Usage of generative AI models (genAI) is allowed within the limits of the KIT guidelines for genAI usage as well as the course-specific AI guidelines outlined by us.
In particular, we require submission of a mandatory genAI usage declaration (even if no LLM was used) for all course or thesis work. A template can be found here. Note that the student takes full responsibility for any submitted content.

If you are uncertain whether the usage of genAI for a specific purpose is permissible or how to declare your usage correctly, you can always reach out to us!
In exceptional cases, we might ask for a protocol of AI interaction, or invite the student to an additional interview after submission of their coursework/thesis to determine the actual usage of genAI. Serious deviations from the declaration of genAI usage, such as missing usages or false declarations of used models, may result in a failing grade.
